Hi Kim,
I am wondering if he has any opinion about this one; -

TIA, H.
I went to that site you listed. I'm not entirely sure what this thing
does. It looks like it hooks up to the intake air temperature sensor
(IAT)and tricks the ECU into thinking its getting a lower air
temperature reading. It could work, but I'm afraid it might do more harm
than good. If you're looking to add some power to your forester theres 3
rules to follow
1. Cheap + Fast = Unreliable
2. Reliable + Cheap = Not Fast
3. Fast + Reliable = Not Cheap
Now there are some things that you can get that are REASONABLY priced
and get you some power. I'm not sure what your goals are, but if all you
want is a small bump in power, start with your exhaust to let your car
breath a bit better. I'll give you some examples:
Headers:
Borla headers Unequal length
Tech-works equal length headers
Ebay Borla Knock-off headers unequal length
Ebay OBX Knock-off equal length headers
Now equal length headers will give you more Hp than the unequal length
headers, but some will go for the unequal length ones just becuase it
gives that Boxer rumble.
Hi-Flow Catalytic converter:
Random Technology dual Hi-flow cats
Stromung Hi-flow cat
Stromung track pipe (no cats)
Now there is a possability if you are going to replace the cats you
might get a check engine light, and if you have to get your car
inspected by a state (like California) thats picky you won't pass
inspection with a check engine light.
Cat-Back exhaust (Mid-pipe & Muffler):
Too many to list !!! but I'll give you a few
Borla
Greddy EVO 2
Stromung
This part works well with other exhaust modifications. By itself a
cat-back exhaust gives very little Hp, but combined with headers or
headers and hi flow cats the performance is better.
Last but not least
Lightweight Crank Pulley:
Perrin
Cobb
Rallitek
Now this won't add any Hp but will help a little bit in the acceleration
department.
Also if you have a 5 speed you might want to check into a light weight
flywheel. Again check out those sites that I gave you and research,
research, research everthing you can and ask if you don't know. There
are plenty of others on those forums that know a lot more than I do. I
hope this helps
