Attention 2016 Forester owners .. a question please on gas fill hole

My wife left the gas cap off accidentally on her 2016 Forester and check engine came on so she put the cap back on, so dealing with that.

Question is .,.she's not sure if the fill hole for the tank had a "flap" that covers it when you don't have a nozzle in .. or if its just an open hole .. she's worried it might have had a flap that fell inside ..

So for 2016 owners, does your fill hole have a flap or not? thanks ..

Doubtful any internal cover would have separated. An evap code could be triggered but replacing the cap should allow the PCM to clear any related code. Nothing more should be needed.clear

Any auto parts store can clear the code, more than likely once it's cleared and the cap is on all will be normal
