New here, but not to Subies, or any other car.
The battery, the fourth, in our ‘16 Legacy, is struggling to start the car. Testing the running voltage at the battery shows 12.2, and off it shows 12.1. Battery is nine months old. Maybe time for a new alternator, but first, a question or two. Is the voltage regulated in the alternator or someplace else in the system, such as the ECM? Two batteries ago, I installed an Optima AGM battery. I’ve since seen where some cars need reprogramming to use this type of battery. Is it possible I’ve damaged something?
I’d like some opinions before I load the parts cannon. Thanks
