2020 rear hatch

On my 2020 Outback, why can’t I open rear hatch with motor running?

You need to push and hold the button. It shouldnt have anything to do with the car running.

We have the same situation(s).. Sometimes ok-others it just beeps.

Those 3 switches on the lower L of the dash are surely VERY POORLY located as is the hood release.

If the car is off and driver door is open push unlock on the door then push the button left of the steering wheel. It's a safety thing so it doesn't open without unlocking all doors first.

One of the buttons on the lower left dash is for the rear hatch hands free sensor. That button only turns the sensor on and off.
