So, I've been hunting down this issue for quite awhile and can't seem to find much on it.
I have a 2017 WRX with 60k on it.
The issue is: When I am 50%-100% throttle roughly, It seems like the car isn't transferring any power to the wheels. The car builds full boost, but won't go anywhere until it finally grabs. Sometimes it'll still pull, but you can feel the car still isn't running at full power. Sometimes you can even smell either the CVT itself or something else.
I've taken the car into the dealer 3 times about this issue. Some have charged me, some haven't. All they do is reset the CVT learning and the problem goes away for about a month or so.
Is there anything I can do to get this fixed? Does anyone else have this issue? Is it the CVT or possibly something else? Transfer case? Torque Converter?
I know the drivetrain has a 100k warranty, but the car isn't fun to drive like this, and the dealers don't seem to want to actually fix it. Is purposefully blowing the CVT under warranty the only way to get it fixed? (This was recommended by one dealer.)
