Just received a power steering pump and while comparing to old pump although the casting looks slightly different everything looks correct except an odd fitting on back. Does anybody know what this is for - or is this for another model? There is no such fitting on the back of the original pump.

2008 Outback P/S pump - what is this?

It looks like some kind of fitting with a very fine hole in the end. The pump was listed for Outback, Forester and Impreza so I'm guessing that it goes to some kind of sensor that's not used on the Outback. I'm going to install pump regardless and just cover the fitting but would still like to know what it goes to. Anybody?
