2001 outback transmission problem

I replaced the auto trans on my 2001 outback with a used one..it wont go into reverse.....what do I check before pulling it out and starting from square one? thx, jim

I suggest Google. i've heard the "no reverse" a few times over the years after tranny swaps. You might get some hits.
