Hi Elkaholic!

i have a 1993 subaru legacy 2.2lt 4 cylinder and i had a new water pump and
new belts put in

Before or after the white smoke showed up?
and white smoke comes out of the vents and it overheats
any help would be greatly appreciated

Which vents? White smoke from the exhaust _usually_ means a bad head
gasket(s). White smoke (steam ???) from the interior vents would mean
a leak in the heater core. Steam from under the hood means an external
coolant leak somewhere, or perhaps an overflow. Chronic coolant
overflow and subsequent overheating is probably a head gasket leak.
Coolant leaks to the outside world are addressed by identifying the
leak and tightening/replacing the suspect components.

ByeBye! S.
