I'm posting this with a heavy heart, but it is time to let my beloved
Impreza go.
Basic specs:
-FWD
-1.8L
-Auto trans
-Power windows/locks/steering
-Driver's side airbag
-AM/FM/cassette
-173k
-I have basically all the maintenance records from when I first bought
the car (used) in the fall of 2004.
The good:
-A/C works *very* well, as does heat
-FWD = avg 30 mpg, I've gotten as high as 36
-Still an excellent snow car even though it's only FWD
-Well taken care of - clean upholstery, vacuumed and washed frequently
-It's a Subaru, what more do you want?
-Water pump and timing belt replaced two years/~24k ago
-Serpentine belts just replaced
-Basically no rust [see below]
-New battery
The semi-bad:
-Needs new tires/alignment (size 165/80/R13)
-Mechanic says it needs new struts in front
-Slight bit of rust above the left rear wheel well -- fixed with
Permatex/Bondo/touchup paint, but just thought I'd disclose that.
Otherwise, it's been a fantastic car for me, I love it, but I just
bought a new Honda Fit and this needs a new home!
I'd love to see it go to someone who will put a little work into it
and take it to 500k. It'd also be a perfect car for a teen driver, as
there's no way in hell you could get it above 90 unlike some of these
other guys on here.
