Tire pressure

thought it was common knowledge that as long as the tires you are
replacing are the SAME SIZE as the new ones, the automobile
manufacturer's inflation recommendations are the ones to use<<

WRONG!!!! On my 04 obw with stock Bridgestone re-92's I ran 32 psi all
around with great results. When I replaced them with Kumho KH-18's 32
psi was too soft . I tried 35 psi all around and find it to be ideal
with those tires.

Regardless, I'm in agreement with other posters a GOOD gauge is
mandatory! I've used digitals and have an Accutire, which is a nice one,
but prefer the Accu-Gage analog cuz it's easier to bleed off excess
pressure and match the tires. Remember, too, even the best guages have a
little leeway (+/- 1 or 2% and up depending on pressure) in their
accuracy--another reason to go a bit over sticker pressure.

I second the Accu-Gage. It's the easiest and best made guage I have
owned. The EZ-Air Tire Gauge Model# EZ02 is the one I have.
Attach the hose to the tire with the clip and hold the gas station air
nozzle against the guage. No switching back and forth. Best thing, is
the tire clip really works. No loss of pressure getting the thing to
seat.
