Sound from back of car

I keep hearing what sounds like a small motor running under the back of the vehicle witb the car off and has been sitting for a while. It will stop when we start the car. Any ideas of what this is?

Yea, freaked me out too. Something about the fuel pump resetting. An hour(ish) after parking, right.
Not only normal, but in the OM. Symone on a Subaru forum pointed that out. I couldn't figure out what could be making a dead thumping sound back there. It will stop after a few minutes on it's own.
