Battery died; got a new battery. Getting a chirp sound from near rear tailgate. Any ideas what it is and how to stop it?
That may be what ate my battery...

Have a professional measure for a parasitic draw on the electrical system. If there is an offending module or control circuit at the rear gate, the parasite can be measured, identified and repaired.
