Rust coloration on barely one month old 2023 Crosstrek touring

Hi everyone,
We just bought our first new Subaru and noticed that there is some rust colouration on the undercarriage which had me alarmed. The sales person that sold us the car told us he was waiting to hear back from service...I did not crawl under the car at the dealership as it was supposed to be a undriven car and it only had <20 km on it.
Would appreciate thoughts and recommendations, thanks in advance.

No worries, it's just a surface rust on machine finished metal. It won't hurt anything and it is normal. Mine was exactly like that as well.

Consider an application of rust protection and check it yearly.

Overkill maybe, but I used three cans of clear lacquer spray on my under car components. Still looks like day one new at 24,000 miles. I did a good job and no paint runs and this eliminates rust and discoloration of all the shiny suspension bolts and nuts. I also coated exhaust cat back. Nice!
