Ring or not to ring

Purchased a 01 Forester with 175 k and bad head gaskets. Should I consider replacing the rings since I’m already that close?

Inspect each of the cylinders "cross hatch", measure the cylinder bores for tapper and out of round. Measure the pistons for "piston to cylinder" clearance. Inspect / machine the cylinder heads, replace the timing belt and anything that rotates around it.
