Hello everyone,
I was spring cleaning my daughters 2011 Forester and noticed that the rear brake pad wear zone (on the rotor) was only about an inch wide. The other 2/3 rds of the rotor braking surface was not being used (rusted and raised above the wear area. Both rear rotors have the same wear pattern. Does this seem like a typical wear pattern to you ? The backing plate on the brake pad seems larger than the wear pattern as well. Short of removing the caliper and looking at the pad I thought I’d bounce it off you all. My guess is that this rotor is used on multiple applications and is oversized for the forester but I want to rule out any problems.
Thanks
