Looking at a 2000 Legacy L wagon with 90000 miles.
Anything I should look out for?

make sure it has a new timing belt and, if it does, why? if not then replace it CAREFULLY. check for cam seal leaks and, if it has a new set of tires, make sure they are matched and the right size and that they match as they are a bit different.

of course, check for leaks. maybe other stuff but that's my take after two subis.

oh yes. make sure that you can locate a reputable dealer close by. there are some nasty ones out there and there is some times a problem getting a mechanic to fix subarus. at least, i have that problem here in port charlotte, fl. the car should last for several hundred thousand miles if it's okay to start with.

Very close to the timing belt and recommended water pump replacement
interval. The cost for this is about $500 at the dealer level so
factor this into the cost equation. Some vehicles also had rear wheel
bearing problems which can be another $300 IF they are making any
noise.
