New Issues with 2005 Subaru Impreza RS

Aloha everyone,
My brother in law and I did a lot of work on my daughter's 2005 Subaru Impreza. We replaced the valves and headers, replaced the alternator, replaced the water pump and thermostat, replaced the spark plugs and spark plug wires and installed a new timing belt kit. After all of that, I finally got the car put back together and the following issues are occurring:
1. the car starts and runs really rough and keeps stalling out.
2. despite a new water pump and thermostat and the cooling system being flushed and burped, the temp gauge on the dash wont move from cold

I am so over this car but I need to get it running smooth before my daughter comes home from college in three weeks. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Take it to a certified mechanic that you trust. Nobody can diagnose online.
Or, just buy her a new car…. Any car that is 20 years old is going to need a professional mechanic.

Check to make sure you have the right plug wire to the correct cylinder. With it stalling I had this problem as well when coming to a stop. Check your vacuum hoses as well as your air-box to make sure its properly secured
