im planning on buying an 2002 Subaru WRX in the near future and im trying to figure out what works best. ive looked all over websites like subimods or subispeed for example and ik what they offer. But i genuinely want to know what works best for actual subaru owners. my plan is to focus more on efficiency of the engine more than power, i don't want or need alot of horsepower and i jst want a sporty daily driver that i can take down a canyon road at some point or a trackday. but i also want to put time into the engine, suspension, exterior, etc so i can truly call it my own and be satisfied with what i built. feel free to correct me if i got smth wrong l. any suggestions/criticism will be majorly helpful. ps i dont plan on buying anything from subimods as from what ive been told they're pretty overpriced. ty for taking time to read this.

You're the only one who knows what you want to personalize it. I find that the best $ spent is on seat time/training. Beyond that, tires, possible sway bars, tinted windows, quality fluids, and 80s music...maybe that should be first. Van Halen...or just get a Justy. :)

ty lol, i try and plan things out meticulously when it comes to things like this. honestly i never thought of spending money on seat time and actually sounds like alot of fun. sway bars sounds like fun ive always been interested in the way that tuning and chassis elements like the aforementioned effect handling. and i def wont forget some nice 80's tunes, ive always been an old soul.

Keep us in the loop.

On a track, one bumps into the OEM stuff pretty quickly, so tires for sure. You can get around brake upgrades, but only for so long. I was amazed the difference sway bars made and wish that I did them years ago.

I'm a planner also. I have a lot of spreadsheets for tracking work done and a lot of bulleted lists for work to be done...in order.
