Mechanical help please 06 lgt limiting itself

I was being a little rough today with my car on a straight I don’t do it often but every once in a while why not right? Until my car stutters and almost acts like it’s governing it’s self under 5k rpm which is weird because typically it’ll slowly rise which is what I was expecting and boom flashing check engine light and I’m like **** 2 k gone into the car but it turns off I test again just to make sure and it works fine lil small stutters tho after a bit tho gone completely but still not good never done this before in my about year of ownership now and I don’t wanna be heading to work and it do that but much worse any mechanics have anything like this go wrong before any help is appreciated please and thank u
