About the only thing I would add would be a "while it's apart" other
known S00B problem, greasing the latch mechanism.

I couldn't read the can label on your spray silicone grease. If it's a
"thick-after-spray" type, it would probably work on the latch pieces as
wheel.

Actually, it was a lithium grease, not a silicon one.

That was nice, but the big wrench you used on the big nut on the pivot
bushing seemed extremely clumsy...

It wasn't a ratchet wrench, that's why. It was just a big long stick
basically, mainly to leverage that nut off. I was simply trying to get
it on and off, not much pizzazz to be had there.
