Help finding out what car my engine came out of

I recently bought a used Subaru engine to build and ultimately install in my Forester. I know the engine is an EJ20 from a Japanese legacy but I'm having an issue figuring out a year or specific model, I've narrowed it down but Id like to get the list down farther so I don't accidently buy the wrong parts. If anyone knows how to check or can help it'd be greatly appreciated. I've pulled most of the codes off the engine and I can supply them. I've attached the list I was able to determine from searching around but to be honest I don't know if its enough info for me to start spending the money.

I can't find anywhere that tells me where the block Vin is on the block it's self

Contact the seller of the engine. They may have associated Vehicle VIN of that or where that engine came from.
Inspect / gently clean the engine block for any serial numbers stamped on the surfaces.
Contact a rebuilder, they may also have more information and identify that series engine.
