Front and Rear washers switched?

R

Richard Kaszeta

My '02 OBS needed a new head gasket (warranty item). Everything seems
to have gone well with the repair, but now my front and rear washer
sprayers are reversed (i.e. activated the front washer causes the
rear window to get sprayed, and vice versa).

My question is, how did they pull this off? It appears that they
accidentally switched the hoses, but the hoses aren't long enough to
switch them back (at least how they are routed now). And it's not the
wiring switched (the harnesses for each pump are different), or the
pumps themselves switched (the holes in the reservoir are slightly
different sizes). Anyone have any ideas?

I'm sure the guys at the Subaru dealership can fix it up, but it's a
bit of a haul to get there and I'm massively busy with the holidays
and short of time to get out of the office. Anyone have any hints on
fixing this myself?

If they didn't (couldn't) switch the hoses, they probably switched the
electrical connectors.

How? They are physically different and incompatible connectors.

Weird.
