Forester Battery

This audience might like to know:

Yesterday I replaced the original equipment battery in my wife's 1999
Forester, bought new in October 1988.

I was really hoping the battery would last the full 10 years, but she was
antsy after it went dead a couple of times (the first time my fault for
having left the dome light on overnight; the second time after we left
the car sitting for 2 1/2 weeks while on vacation).
