An FYI post! - 2025 Forester- just took my first long distance drive. Started with less than 2000 miles on the odometer. On my trip down, was still several hours from my destination and my “eyesight” feature started shutting off and on intermittently. That also shut the cruise control off and on, and that became frustrating and distracting. Was not raining, not foggy, just a nice sunny day. Windshield was fairly clean. Short drives next couple days with same results of eyesight turning off and on. The 3rd day I was able to look at the windshield better and there was one little bug splat slightly above the right side camera. Got that cleaned and for the rest of my trip and the drive home, no more issue. I am guessing that little bug splat was causing a shadow to go across the camera lens when the sun hit it at just the right angle. So, if you start having the eyesight disabled notice, check for bug splats. 😁

The eyesight camera is using the front parking camera under the Hood ornament as well. When hen you clean it it comes back. Worked for me.

Yep. Frosty days as well. Really though, I'd prefer not to have eye-sight at all (but not an option anymore :( ). A problem is ... they have eye-sight linked to the cruise control. No eye-sight, no standard cruise control... Grrrr. No seatbelt on, no speed control as well. Dislike all the interlinks.

We have an issue with ours on the 2024 Crosstrek. Living in the North with snow, on the highway and using the windshield washer and wiper the camera only works 1/2 the time. It would work better if the wiper blade was 3/8"-1/2" longer. Have a look at the picture attached.

I've noticed that also, up here in Montana. But I always say "good, not working!" . Ha! If it wasn't for the big icon on the dash alerting you that the eye-sight is off, I wouldn't mind it at all. Just like that 'yellow' light on the left of the dash by the tach, that is always on (lane change?) . I would have rather had it off by default and on only when you are using it as yellow means to me caution, something is wrong... Icons should only be on if there is a problem or enabled.. So backwards!
