Error code HC(J1850) How to fix

Good day, I’ve started working on my 2006 legacy GT and have come across a major issue, While trying to switch my clutch last fall the code HC came up on my dash and from reading other forums I kinda get what it is I’m still not sure how to fix it. My question is does anyone have experience fixing this code? Is there a way to fix it without changing the entire computer? Is there a way to eliminate the code? Any help would be much appreciated.
