Hello, a friend recommended I post here for my issue. I just did an oil change with a friend on my Subaru Outback and we mistakenly put 5 quarts of oil into the engine instead of the 4.2 quarts like we should have. I drove it for about 60 miles like this and the engine started knocking above 3k rpm. Earlier today I drained out just under a quart of the oil from the car so it is about normal levels (I checked the dipstick and it is just under the full mark). The knocking is still there and seems a bit louder actually since I drained a bit out. The engine doesn't give any codes but I'm worried I may have done some long term damage to my engine. Any help or guidance would be appreciated
Thanks!
