In my new 2019 Subaru Forester, the computer says the average mileage at the end of whatever tank full of fuel has emptied, and upon fillup, I do the math with a calculator.. It's always below the computer's estimate by about 1.2 to 2 MPG. Is it just bad programming? For example, if the computer says average 29, then the real (miles divided by gallons pumped) comes back as 27.5, for example. This, so far, has been consistent.
