Can I use a wire brush to clean up the exhaust manifold flanges' (the flanges that secure exhaust manifold gasket to cylinder head)?
There is some rust, etc on the flanges'. I want to clean it up some so the gasket can seal better.
The muffler shop said to use a wire on the manifold flanges'.
And on the cylinder head side, it looks kind of rusty, or has slight remnants of the old gasket. I wouldn't use a wire brush on aluminum alloy.
How would you clean up the cylinder head side?
