Not necessarily, some of the Chinese ST generator heads are of decent
qlty and a very good value for someone looking for a stationary
generator. Like with a lot of products from China and other
developing countries, you can find qlty ranges from very good to very
poor. A 7.5 kW st generator tips the scale about a little over 250
lbs. Notice these generators a 4 pole and only require 1800 rpm for
60hz power. At least the good ones use std bearings that are
available anywhere. The only other thing to wear out is the brushes
and they last for yrs.
