Hi,
I have owned an 86 wagon since new and have rarely experienced any problems
(touch wood) although it is now retired to be my second car.
But just recently, a couple of times when I have gone to start it, I turn
the key on, it goes click and then everything is dead.
First time I checked everything obvious, battery, fuses etc but no luck. I
then put it into gear (3rd) and pushed it forward a couple of metres. Turned
the ignition on and as per usual it started first kick, as if there had not
been a problem.
Went ok for a week and then the same thing happend, with exactly the
solution. It has now been going ok for a few days but I am just waiting for
the next time.
Not sure if it is related, but about a week before the first occurrence, I
had the water pump and timing belts replaced.
Timing ?? - perhaps that is a clue
I would appreciate any advice - I am a reasonable backyard mechanic.
Thanks in advance
