2018 Crosstrek with rugged tires

I've been admiring the rugged look of the BF Goodrich Baja Champion tires that I'm beginning to see more and more of on latest model Crosstreks. They are the ultimate all season and winter tire for us. So far, I love to take my 2018 Crosstrek into the hills but the tires puncture easily. Baja's are made to prevent that. If anyone has these tires on a 2018 Crosstrek or newer year, can you tell me if your ride has degraded due to the ruggedness of these tires? Or, has your ride remained the same?
