I just bought a forester with 95k miles. I immediately noticed poor gas mileage around 11mpg. The coolant expansion tank was dry and when I pulled the radiator cap the gasket was swollen and there was some white funk on the cap and oil in the coolant.
Took it to the Subaru dealership and they resealed the engine using part number 10105AC450
Can anyone tell me if this is a complete reseal? I understand there are 3 o-rings that coolant passed through that requires the block to be split. I’m just hoping this resolves my problem.
