Aloha,
Hope someone can help me with this.
A few months ago, we found that a valve in my daughter's 2005 Subaru Impreza RS 2.5L SOHC was bent so we removed both headers and I paid a shop to install new valves. After reinstalling the headers and reassembling the engine, I found the that driver side camshaft sprocket and the crankshaft sprocket were not properly lined up for me to install the new timing belt kit.
I see there is a red dot and a white paint mark on the driver side camshaft sprocket and a small triangle and a rectangle on the crankshaft sprocket. I am trying to figure out which is supposed to line up for timing on the mark on the engine block.
I was able to turn the driver side sprocket by hand and the red dot lined up.
I have searched the internet for a website or video that explains what to do and have come up short.
I am REALLY hoping that I dont have to remove the driver side header AGAIN to line everything up.
Any helpful advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Mahalo!!
