Transmission and Engine Swaps

I am wanting to swap the AT from a 2001 forester, tranny # TZ1A3ZC3AA into a 2000 forester. tranny number # TZ1A3ZC2AA . Does anybody know what, if anything, I might have to do to make it work? How do I find out whether I need the ECU and TCU from the 2001 swapped into the 2000? Are the gear ratios the same? Where do I find that information?
Also, can I swap the motor from that same 2001 Forester into a 2006 forester? What do I have to do to make that work?
