how to reinstall WAZE, instead of GOOGLE maps?

If on your phone, when connected go to apps on the car screen, menu, phone apps. Not sure from there, but you should find all your phone apps . Click it and it will move to the top of the list on car play. Waze has become so bothersome and freezes up so much, I just use Google maps. Not all the features, but a lot less problems. Traffic is still there, but Maps doesn't show police or other things. Sorry for being vague, I just found waze again after it went away on android auto. I stumbled around for a few minutes, but knew what I was looking for.
