Priming Oil Filter Not Workinh

2021 Forester attempting to prime oil filter using method to prevent starting while cracking. Engine will not turn over with push to start while holding throttle open. Input please. Thanks

That’s a bit surprising given how this has been extensively shared by others. I first heard of this from mrsubrau1387, a certified Subrau mechanic or certainly seemly to have much experience with an extensive log of YouTube videos on his channel. I’ve watch many of them, since Im not that familiar with Subarus but enough to see he is obviously very experienced. Perhaps he did not intend to communicate this “priming” following an oil change, applied to the later model “push to start” models. I will be looking to see other responses concerning your comments. Thanks

Easy there my friend. I have no reason to believe your experience and skill set is anything less than the most of all contributors. I was merely stating the wide variance of knowledgeable contributors regarding ONLY the subject of “Priming” following an oil change to delay ignition until the new filter had filled. That’s it and nothing more. If I offended you I assure you that was not my intention. After all, I seek knowledgeable input, yours included, which is the primary goal of this forum. Again, apologies for any other implication that was taken.
