All of this talk about the 2.5L (mostly bad) has me wondering about the 3.0L
in my wife's new Tribeca. Our last Subaru had the 2.2L and was trouble free
for over 120Kmiles. We changed the timing belt all several gaskets at 85K,
but that was maintenance, not a failure. So, how is the 3.0L? I have been
reading about the new, larger 3.6L engine to be used in 2008 and would be
very frightened of it. It seems they are pushing the limits quite a bit to
get 3.6L of displacement from that engine.
Thanks for any input.
BTW, we love the Tribeca. It drives well, has a great dash/center console
layout, and is UNIQUE. Unlike some of the other crossovers, there isn't one
on every corner.
