Another (tentative) plug for TireRack.
Tentative because I haven’t actually put the tires on yet.
Ordered 4 Winterforce** tires mounted and balanced on 15” steel rims.
Order entered on 11/26 (Wed).
Rec’d three confirming/ status type e-mails before the day was over.
Including one stating “your tires have been shipped”.
TireRack’s direct link into the UPS tracking system allowed further
monitoring of my order.
UPS had my order at their distribution center (5 miles away) in less than 24
hours.
OK, so it wasn’t exactly like they had to ship them across the country (from
South Bend, IN to Cleveland, OH) but I was still impressed.
If it weren’t for that pesky Thanksgiving holiday, I’m confident I would
have rec’d the order on Friday. As it was I had to wait until Monday.

Kudos to TireRack. Now I just have to hope that the tires (my choice) are
worth a cr**.

For Tirerack.com. I just bought 4 Michelin Arctic Alpins and 16" steel
wheels from them with wheel covers. I got a great price -- $450 less than
the dealer quoted me for my '02 Outback. They came in a few days and are now
on the car. I can't say anything but good about Tirerack. This was my first
dealings with them, but I will be back when my Potenzas wear out -- which
won't be long.
