jack with slot

The scissor jack that comes with my wrx has a slot on the top. The jack is
slow to use.

Where can I buy a hydraulic jack that has a similar slot on the top? Or jack
stand with slot?

When I google "hydraulic jack slot", nothing appropriate shows up. Ditto
with "jack stand slot".

That scissors jack is only meant to allow you to change a flat tire. You
really
shouldn't use it to raise the car for other maintenance purposes. Get
yourself
a regular floor jack and use it at the designated jacking points (usually
the
center of the front crossmember or the center of the rear differential).

A hydraulic jack doesn't have a large enough saddle to spread the load as
you lift the car. You risk collapsing the pinch weld at the scissors jack
point
or bending that part of unibody frame.

I've found that cutting a slot in a (urethane) hockey puck works well as a
jack "saddle". You could use wood too, providing that its a hardwood and
won't split with the weight of the car. You can get decent 2 ton floor jacks
(Chinese made) for $50 or less.
