hydraulic jack with notch to fit subaru?

The WRX comes with a screwy jack that has a notch to fit the underside of
the car. The jack feels kind of flimsy; I'd like to get a beefier hydraulic
jack. Are they any hydraulic jack with a notch?

You can put any hydraulic jack up against that pinch weld joint and jack
away. It doesn't have to fit the pinch itself.

My favorite jack came from Harbor Freight, $26. It is a hydraulic
scissor jack, and I just used it on my Outback a couple of days ago.
It has a slot in the lifting pad that fits just fine. I agree that the
slot is not necessary, but it adds a little extra security, and it
causes the load to be more distributed.

I took a hockey puck which fit my hydraulic jack and cut a notch into it. Works
great.

There's also precut hard rubber pads of similar construction at Sears and Harbor
Freight.
