**Remember: On snowy/icy roads, the rear-end will come around, the front
doesn't shovel (I was used to front-wheel drive cars). I learned that one
the interesting way. :) I have the 5 speed and it's a torque-y little
bugger, lots of fun!

Wow. I had an AWD Tercel Wagon and it wouldn't break loose for ANYTHING!
I didn't even have snows on it.

My experience with wagons was that the weight sometimes helps with
traction, but usually helps break the rear end loose. Not so with the
Tercel. That thing was like a tank! I TRIED to break it loose so I could
learn the handling characteristics, and it just wouldn't do it!

And, my Suby is a hatch, not a wagon. Let's see how less weight behaves!

**Oh, the Impreza is rock solid and steady. I was being a bit naughty
to see what would happen. :) At the time (I'm now back in CT) I lived
on a gravel road in MI. Much, much fun (and horror)! :D The Impreza
handled the snow and mud far better than any of my other vehicles
including the AWD Santa Fe.

**Plus you'll have papers in it, too.

Where in CT? I lived in East Windsor (Broadbrook), "Whorehouse" Point and
New Britski.
