'23 Forester Premium. I just changed my engine oil for the first time and found that the drain plug didn't have a gasket--never saw that before! All the Service Advisor could say on the phone is "if it came from the factory that way I guess that must be correct", not considering that maybe an error was made in the engine assembly or I accidentally dropped it (didn't, I checked the used oil). Wish I could have talked to the shop guy that actually gets his hands oily.
My question: Has Subaru stopped using gaskets on the oil plugs? Possible, since a Sumo wrestler at his day job must have tightened it--needed a 16" breaker bar to loosen it...
