When I start moving slowly; forward, reverse, right, left, the vehicle makes a clunking noise accompanied with slight jolting. Only does this after the car is warm and been running. Front axle has been changed and still did it. Could feel and see the rear wheels jolting at slow speed. I disconnected the drive shaft form the rear differential and it stopped. Figured the differential was the problem and replaced it. Still same problem after it was all connected, warmed up and driven. Could the transfer case cause the problem when the load was shared front and back vs. having the drive shaft off and load was only on the front?

Did you ever figure out the problem? I seem to have the same one. Thanks.

No idea what year cars you guys have but if your tires aren't the same diameter, you may be looking at a new "center" differential (viscous coupling) if the Forester is like the Legacy/Outback. They are quite sensitive to variation in tires.
