Clunking noise when I make a sharp turn

Hello,
Yesterday my 6 year old Legacy started
Making a metal sounding clunk or pop
It happens almost every time when I make a sharp turn
but if I make a wide turn it happens only occasionally
It seems to be coming from the rear

I know this may sound dumb but have you checked the truck where the spare tire is to see if anything came loose and is knocking around back there?
