When I started my new 2025 Forester Touring yesterday, CarPlay had disappeared from the apps in the infotainment system. I tried restarting the iPhone and the infotainment system. Still no CarPlay. Googled it but none of the solutions worked. Finally called my broker. He walked me through deleting the Forester from the iPhone and the phone from the Forester. Then reinstalled it and that worked. Pretty quick.

Then I called my daughter who has a new Crosstrek. Same thing happened to her. I have little faith the problem is solved. I fully expect it to happen again and probably at a time when I really need to use maps. CarPlay also is my garage door opener.

I wonder if Subaru even knows this let alone has a solution. My previous Subaru Impreza had major infotainment problems requiring several updates. I’m hoping not to have to relive that s**t show.

I have a 2024 Crosstrek and have noticed a similar issue. Sometimes it takes 3-5 minutes for CarPlay to load. According to Consumer Reports, infotainment issues with Subarus is a very common problem accross all model lines.

I has a 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness. Occasionally CarPlay isn't recognized. The only reliable solution I've found is to restart my iPhone.
Then there is that useless wireless charging pad. The phone just slides around and gets heated. I might try it again with something to hold it in place over the charging spot.

If you are having CarPlay connect/disconnect problems with an iPhone, you should update your iPhone software, since Apple claims to have fixed this bug in its latest iOS update. Some suggest that after you update your phone this time, try unpairing your car from your iPhone and then repairing it.
