calibrating liberty gx fuel guage

The fuel guage on my Subaru Liberty GX 1994 model is out of Sync.
Just wondering how hard it is to re-calibrate the Fuel Guage and what
procedure is involved in rectifying this?

search the forum at www.usmb.net for fuel sender or something similar.
There is a known issue with cleaning or replacing the senders and a
fairly detailed procedure listed (IIRC) for diy-ing it.
