Auto dimming rear view mirror 2015 Legacy

All of the info I have says this model is wired for this option, even if it's not ordered. I cannot find this wiring harness anywhere near the sunglass holder/cabin light assembly. I've reached two feet in all directions under the headliner, and it's nowhere. Mirror part number H501SAL000
Are there models where this wiring harness is NOT installed? Thanks.
