I have 2017 Subaru Forrestor that needs brakes and a front end alignment. I bought it to a repair shop and they qouted me a price of 1000 USD to do brakes and an alignment. There are some worn bushings in the left front which he did show me.

My question is should i bring this to a Subaru Dealership first and have them look at it? And do you thing the 1000 dollar price qoute is resonable?

Thanks

If quotes are free, Collect a few! Generally, the dealer is the highest price and you get OEM parts. If you are near a small Subaru shop (not dealer) they are likely the best of both worlds. Brakes are usually pretty cheap and easy, depending on how many parts you need (rotors, etc. or just pads). Alignment should be for AWD, not just front.

Remember to have the quote new replacement rotors if your mileage is higher or any disks are warped or grooved. Resurfacing was to expensive when I compared last time for my Outlander.

Just an FYI, they are likely including new brake rotors in their quote. It seems all the OEMs are making rotors too thin now to resurface as they once did.
It's all to save weight in order to meet CAFE standards. You might want to either look or ask them.
This is the sort of thing that happens when we allow gubberment to run amok and mess around in areas they have no business messing in.
