I have had this 2019 Forester for a little more than one year. My overall view is negative. I will be trading this vehicle in soon. Most of my annoyances with this vehicle are minor; tailgate won't work sometimes; no storage room in front; engine that roars at the most innocent of climbs; controls that are freaky.
But, there is one mechanical malfunction that is just not acceptable and does not bode well for the future. I started the vehicle and the engine started jumping around like a pig in a poke. It actually rocked the vehicle. I immediately shut the engine off. When I restarted it was fine. I can only come to one conclusion: half the boxer engine was firing and half wasn't.
Not acceptable.
