98 Legacy Outback Tapping Noise

L

Larry

I just bought a 98 Legacy Outback Wagon with 57K miles on it. It is in great
shape, and I love driving it. When it has been sitting for a while and I
start it, I get a tapping noise until it really warms up after driving for a
while, then it seems to go away. I've checked the oil and I know the
previous owner and she did all of the scheduled maint. on it. Any
suggestions would be a great help. Thanks from a new Subaru owner. Larry

It's perfectly normal. I've found that
Mobil1 10w30 reduces it somewhat.

Thanks for the help. That's good to know. Does yours quiet down after it
warms up a little. Larry
